Markus Payer is the founder and director of the communications and public relations agency waveL in Luxembourg. waveL advises and supports renowned clients across Europe in various high-tech and innovation-driven sectors including space, semiconductors, telecommunications, biotechnology and healthcare. He recently launched the subsidiary waveL art in Athens, which translates the “art of storytelling” – waveL’s mission – into the arts. 

Before founding waveL in 2019, Payer headed Corporate Communications and PR at SES in Luxembourg; he worked for the C-Band Alliance in Washington, D.C., Syngenta in Switzerland, RTL Group in Luxembourg, and Bertelsmann in Germany. Prior to that, he was a reporter and correspondent at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) and Reuters in Germany. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Luxembourg-based Asteroid Foundation, which organizes the annual Asteroid Day on June 30.
